Francis Wilson


Emeritus Professor Francis Wilson is a South African economist and has taught economics at UCT for over thirty years. He founded and for years directed the South African Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU). In 2001, he was the Director of the Data First Resource Unit and was the Pro-Vice Chancellor of UCT in 2012. He is currently a member of the Secretariat helping to co-ordinate the work of the Mandela Initiative, particularly with regard to the process of the Action Dialogues.
